When April 10 storm Front Range storm turned into fears of slippery roads the next morning, the Metro North Chamber of Commerce decided to send the breakfast feast they’d planned for an annual review of upcoming projects to Senior Hub’s Meals on Wheels program and the soup kitchen at Federal Height’s Thrive Church.
“We hate to postpone this much-anticipated event, but we are happy to be able to bring some sunshine to seniors and families in our community,” said Gregg Moss, president of the Metro North Chamber.
The food had been prepared by the hotel’s staff.
The group was hosting Hot Projects, a renamed State of Region discussion that considers economic development projects in the Denver-metro area’s northern suburbs. More than 200 local business representatives were scheduled to attend the event at Thornton’s DoubleTree Hotel. Keynote speaker Tyler Carlson of Evergreen Devco, Inc., was set to discuss “The Changing Face of Development and the 20 Year Impact.”
