Evergreen Devco, Inc., a leading retail and multifamily development company, announced that it has begun construction on a pair of single-tenant retail buildings that will house a Black Rock Coffee Bar and a Wilhelm Automotive on the southeast corner of 35th Avenue and Greenway Road in Phoenix.
The two buildings are part of Evergreen’s pad development project of an existing shopping center. Situated on 3.76 acres of land, Evergreen is converting the parking field into five new pad developments.
Black Rock Coffee Bar will occupy an 1,887-square-foot space—which will be its first location in the city of Phoenix when it opens by the end of the year. The Portland-based coffee chain has 60 shops in five states, including four in Arizona.
The 5,569-square-foot Wilhelm Automotive will be the third in Phoenix and twelfth location in Arizona. Estimated opening is expected April 2020. The Arizona-originated company opened their first store in Peoria in 1928.
“Evergreen Devco is excited to have the opportunity to collaborate with Black Rock Coffee and Wilhelm Automotive to bring new life to the intersection of 35th Ave & Greenway,” said Bryan Lamond, Director of Acquisitions with Evergreen Devco. “Black Rock and Wilhelm are both known for their customer-oriented focus, and we believe they will add real value to the community.”
Vertical Design Studios is designing the Black Rock Coffee Bar location and RKAA Architects, Inc. is designing Wilhelm Automotive. American Retail Contractors, LLC, is the general contractor building both.
