New restaurants are landing in Evergreen Development’s redevelopment, a former semiconductor plant site on Bell Road in north Phoenix.
Evergreen is building the 31-acre Trellis on Bell mixed-use project at 12th Street and Bell Road.
It was previously a semiconductor plant for STMicroelectronics and then Western Digital Corp. The shutdown computer chip factor has been torn down for Evergreen’s mix of apartments, retail and single-family housing.
Evergreen executives announced today Raising Cane’s, Blaze Pizza, Cafe Rio, Arizona Hair Company and Kneaders Bakery were landing at the Trellis project.
“Our vision for Trellis on Bell has always been to make it one of the most desirable destinations in north Phoenix,” said Bruce Pomeroy, president of Evergreen Development. “Our retail and restaurant partners are helping make that vision come to life.”
The restaurants and hair salon will open by the end of the year.
Scottsdale-based MT Builders and Evergreen are expected to break ground on a 306-unit apartment complex in June. Evergreen also plans on selling 13.3 acres to a home builder for single-family developer.
The north Phoenix area near Seventh Street is a prime commerical and retail area with power centers, grocery and big-box stores, fitness centers and restaurants.
